Q. In my heart and soul, I know I’d be okay to quit a job that I’m not happy with, and I mean like crying when I have to go unhappy. Yet, quitting doesn’t feel like the “right” thing to do. Staying and being unhappy doesn’t feel right either. I know we are not supposed to be unhappy. I also know that not having an income option to pay bills would be a worse unhappy. How do we decipher or decide between the two unhappys? Do we stay with the unhappy work that at least pays the bills?
A. Or – is there a 3rd option? A quit your job and know your bills will be paid one way or another.
Q. I’ve been on the no-income-bills-not-being-paid side of things. The Universe does not always come through.
A. The Universe DOES always come through. ALWAYS. What you, people, do not realize, or want to accept, is that the Universe comes through in unexpected ways. And so, most (many) people limit their acceptance of what is being offered, and reject what the Universe offers.
As an example:
- Joe Smith quits his job with no prospects, nothing in the works, he’s just fed up and quits.
- Joe Smith is expecting he’ll find similar work. Joe sends out dozens of resumes with little to no response. Or he gets a response for an interview, but nothing pans out. Joe is pursuing only one line of options. An option that is familiar. Yet it is an option he detests.
- The step Joe took, the leap of faith, in quitting his job, signaled the Universe to step in and point Joe in the direction of his dreams, where success (and income) would be assured. But Joe refuses to acknowledge those options the Universe is putting in his path, responding with comments like “wouldn’t that be nice,” or “I wish I could do that,” or “only in my dreams.” Well, Joe, your dreams are trying to be answered. The Universe is blocking your “regular” job attempts, so you will consider the coffee shop you want to open, or the Barbershop, or the book you want to write, or the Website you want to build, or that Podcast you always said you’d do…someday. And now, someday is here. Now is that someday!
Humanity is so brainwashed into thinking you must have a “job” to make money. You’re so used to being unhappy, you think it’s just a rite of passage. You are 100% right that it is the human condition. What it is NOT is the Universe’s condition. Until more people take leaps of faith towards their dreams, letting go of the purse strings, allowing the Universe to put ideas in their paths, you will remain on that wheel of unhappiness.
But this is the time you are all in now. More and more people will learn to “let go”, learn to just “be” learn to literally go with the flow, and in time it will become the norm.
In the meantime, ease into it. If you, anyone, wants to or decides to take a leap of faith, then more power to you/them and hurrah for taking the leap into the unknown. It is very exciting, scary, and fun to do – only though if you are willing to truly, TRULY, let go (and let God, as they say).
However, baby steps will also get you there. Go from full-time to part-time, write your book while you’re still working, look for a less hateful job. Try enjoying the people you work with more than the job. Do what you can to make it bearable, while at the same time projecting that the situation is temporary and you will KNOW when you’re ready for your leap. If you’re not ready, don’t leap. Only leap when you are ready.
Sometimes the Universe decides for you. That it’s time for your leap, i.e. you lose a job, or you lose a store, or your books don’t sell, and then perhaps it’s time to go in a different direction altogether. Be completely open to what comes next. Allow it to unfold. You can (and should) allow what’s next to unfold even when in a hateful job, especially when it’s a hateful job. Don’t prescribe your “what’s next” just allow it. And before you know it, you’re presented with the life of your dreams. And away you go!

If you’d like to ask a question send it to Lynn Carol.
If you’d like to buy the book go here: Back to Being. This book is now being offered at bookstores literally around the world. It is exciting and crazy to see it advertised in other languages. If you are not an Amazon fan you can go into any bookstore and they should be able to order it for you.
