It’s a dreary day—a welcome day off from my office job. But here I sit, on the couch, unmotivated. And I’m feeling bad about that.  Many days, ok I’m lying, on occasion, sometimes, I will get up and just start cleaning, or doing, or whatever the case may be, and by the end of the day I feel great – I feel like I’ve accomplished so much.  I feel like that because I have accomplished so much. Because most days, when I’m not at the office, I sit and think about how unmotivated I am.  I know I have to come up with something for the blog, so I just figured what better subject than motivation?  And since I’m not motivated to share anything else about myself this week, let’s just jump right in with the question I posed to the Universe:

Q. Motivation – tell me about it. Tell me all about it. (See? Not even the motivation to pose a question.)

A. Motivation – do you mean when you are motivated to do something? To finish something or to start something? Are you asking if this is divinely inspired? Is it divinely inspired to be motivated?

Everything in existence is divinely inspired – it can not not be divinely inspired.  In relation to feeling an urge or a motivation to move in a particular direction – let’s say, then yes – there is a divine spark that will move you.  You will feel like taking a walk, making the call, writing a page, or cooking a meal.  But keep in mind, the idea of motivation, of making sure you are doing something all the time, is the thinking of the “old” paradigm of doing, not the one/the mindset we have shared where consciousness is headed of being.

Doing something constantly, filling your days with tasks or to-do lists, is not of a divine nature, so to speak.  A divine nature would have you resting, a lot more than you are accustomed to in general, spending quiet time, not time obsessing with constant thought or TV binging, but simply being in the world.  Taking a break, your face in the sun, or in the shade, or a walk in the woods or an open field, or sitting in your kitchen looking at the birds in your yard, watching the clouds go by, talking with friends, laughing a lot, and most importantly, not feeling guilty about enjoying your life. These unmotivated activities – although any of those activities will be motivated as well, but these types of activities will help you to understand your role in the Universe.  It’s not to do anything specifically. Your role is to “be” in the world.  Feel the world.  Feel the air, the sun, the breeze, the water, the love.  These are life’s gifts.  However, as the way it is now, you need to schedule downtime, schedule “me” time, and that’s okay.  This is a time of transition, so lean into it; however you see fit.

Now, I’m sure your question was probably leaning more into the motivation to write the page or book, start a project, find a job, those guilt-producing scenarios.  To those, we will say if you want to accomplish “whatever” – whenever you start, whenever you pick up the pen, open the computer, buy the paint, or search for a job, you are being divinely motivated.  If you’re not feeling it, then that feeling is also divinely motivated.  If you never feel like picking up the pen or looking for that job, then ask yourself for redirection, or better yet, just redirect yourself. Let go of the idea that you have to do something.  Don’t want to look for a job?  Start a puzzle, read a book, take a walk, redirect your thoughts, and once you let go of trying to be motivated to do a thing, you will get motivated.  You’re so stuck on the task that you’re not allowing the task to develop divinely.  Think about the stories of when a doctor tells a woman that she’ll never get pregnant, and then she gets pregnant. It’s because she let go of the “task” of it, of the burden of trying.  Once you let the task go, it will come back around and either be fulfilled or you will be shown an alternate task.  A different job, a different day, or a different project, or you just start when the timing is right.  Let go of trying, and everything falls into place. It works every time.  EVERY time.  The only times it doesn’t work is when you’re trying to control the narrative or control the outcome.  When you truly let go, the task, the book, the project will be completed.  And you will get pregnant.
